Bri Heroux Law Enforcement Scholarship
The goal of the Bri Heroux annual scholarship is to help support a current or prospective student in their pursuit of a career in law enforcement. The scholarship is for students who are, or will be in the next 3 months, attending a two or four-year college in pursuit of a Law Enforcement degree.
Background
Officer Heroux began her career as a full-time patrol officer with the Stillwater Police Department in 2006. After working as a patrol officer, faithfully, for three years she learned that she and her husband were going to have a baby. Unfortunately, Officer Heroux passed away from complications due to child birth. Her son, Leland, survived and is thriving with his father and family. Requirements
The Bri Heroux Scholarship is a $1000 per year award that will be given to the student that has shown a dedication to their preparation for a career as a police officer. A new candidate will be considered each year. Our association is looking for students that have maintained a 2.5 cumulative GPA in their senior year, high school classes or a 2.5 cumulative GPA in their college courses. In addition, we are looking for students that have been active in their community through either paid or volunteer endeavors. The applicant must have at least one term left at the time of the application and must be enrolled full time. Scholarship award will be based on the applicant’s academic achievement, career goals, leadership, and financial need.

Essay
In less than 800 words please describe what you have done to prepare yourself for a career in Law Enforcement to include the following:

Transcript
In addition to the essay, please send an official transcript from the high school you are graduating from or college you are are currently attending.
